HyperStreaming™ Technology Introduction

SiS HyperStreaming architecture brings the concept of low latency, concurrency, pipelining, real time channel accessing and smart arbitration mechanisms into chipset architecture. HyperStreaming makes single streams with lower latency than other platforms that reduce the response time of all accesses. The devices in the HyperStreaming architecture can be issued in pipeline or concurrently because there are parallel architecture interfaces inside it. The real time accesses and the HyperStreaming Technology Architecture downloading of current music and films, as they are playing, can be prioritized with high priority streams routed through specific stream paths in the HyperStreaming architecture. Smart Stream flow control can also be applied to fully utilize the use of queues inside the HyperStreaming chipset architecture. On the other hand, performance can also be boosted by increasing the number of streams issued after efficient use of queues inside the architecture. Smart Streaming can also prioritize Non-post and Response streams to reduce both waiting time of CPUs and devices. As well, streams can be tagged continuously by Smart Streaming to reduce buffering, hence reducing the cost of buffers, and increase the speed of accesses thus enhancing the performance. The inclusion of the four described major functions of the HyperStreaming architecture in SiS chipset will make it superior to other chipsets as demonstrated with popular benchmarks and measuring tools.

Conclusively, the SiS HyperStreaming platform reduces all possible bottlenecks inside chipsets and makes them efficient in networking accesses, real time accesses, downloading of media streams and the use of office software tools. By taking advantage of the chipset, customers will be blessed with a faster system that consumes less power thus making their multimedia experience more enjoyable.

Fig. 1. shows the architecture of a traditional computer system. The I/O bandwidth, concurrency and smart designs are very limited. Many architecture optimization and improvement is thus implemented in the HyperStreaming architecture.
